Job Description
NOTICE OF OPEN POSITION

** Hiring Immediately**

POSITION:                             Student Learning Recovery K-12 Tutoring Positions
DEPARTMENT:                      Madison County JobSource

STATUS:                                 Temporary, Part-time  (approximately 6-9 hours/week, 25 weeks for each school year, no holidays or school breaks)
Training will be provided and paid starting in July 2021.  Program will run through June 2023.
LOCATION:                       Onsite at school. The after-school program will run at Anderson area, Elwood area, and Fairmount area schools.

COMPENSATION
RANGE:                    $25-45/hour

Qualifications
 
  • Currently attending an accredited college or university
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with K-12 children preferred
  • Ability to relate well to students, peers, parents and other staff
Job Description
The after-school program tutor will work with 3-6 children over the course of a school year to help them achieve program goals that include but are not limited to social emotional learning (SEL), academic recovery, and homework help. Tutors log their work and interaction with the students every day, and report to the program Co-Director. Training in SEL and some of the academic intervention techniques will be provided. Tutor will be dedicated to the individual success of each student in their care, and will communicate collaboratively with team leaders, school counselors, administrators, etc. to achieve that end.

Job Duties
  1. Provide SEL to students
  2. Provide academic recovery interventions as well as homework help
  3. Document daily activities and assessments completed with the student
  4. Report to program Co-Director
  5. Log time into the timesheet tool provided
  6. Attend any training required to execute role as tutor
  7. Helps to enforces safety and operating procedures set down by the program and the school
  8. Possibly attending occasional after-school field trips
